Blog Weight a Minute Monday! CONTEST COMING SOON
Weight a Minute Monday! CONTEST COMING SOON

Its a Weight a Minute Monday today on the Spicy Wifey Blog!  Periodically, Spicy Wifey devotes Mondays to discuss health, wellness and fitness.  Good health and wellness are paramount in order to maintain your SPICE FACTOR!

As I pondered topics for today, I kept thinking about conversations recently shared on the Spicy Wifey Facebook Fan Page and Spicy Wifey Facebook Group Page regarding wedding dresses!  In recent weeks the media has been buzzing about Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries wedding.   Instead of getting caught up in the circus we opted to talk about the selection of the Vera Wang Gown.  Its an aspect of the wedding we can all relate too.  The selection of "The Dress" is probably the most important and significant component of the wedding day!

Wifeys chimed in and shared!  Some loved their choice and would wear it again.  Others, well, not so much.  But over and over again I read, "I can't fit my dress anymore".  Now, I haven't tried my gown on, but I probably can't fit mine either.  So I got an idea!  Why not challenge ourselves to get back down to our wedding day weight?  I am still hammering out the contest details, but KNOW that that prize(s) will be fabulous!  I will have experts advising us along the way so that we can do this in the spirit of the Spicy Wifey way of getting fit.   Rest assured it will be healthy and expert tips will help you achieve lasting results.

At the end, win our loose the contest, YOU WIN!  You will be healthier and fit and be able to wear the most expensive gown you own.  Not to mention you have probably only worn it once and it would be fabulous to have an excuse to wear it again!

Again, I am still hammering out the details BUT this is what I have so far:

- You have to try on your dress!  (I don't want to either, but we CAN DO IT!)

-  Send us a picture of you in the gown, as it fits at the start of the contest.  Then an after pic of you in the same gown.

-  Tell us the story about your wedding dress selection process.

At the end of the contest those who get back into their dresses will be entered into a grand prize drawing.  I want to reward other participants too.  Perhaps give away prizes along the way to celebrate milestones.  And certainly give points for extra weight contributors like, kids!  LOL

Don't start sending in pics yet.  Let me hammer out all the rules and details.  But go ahead and start getting your minds right.  Take out that gown and at least take the before picture so when we announce the contest you will be ready!

Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas too!

Thanks,

Quin, Spicy Wifey Creator

  1. Cute! Count me in whenever you get all of the details. I am in love with this idea! I can't fit my dress either!
  2. I'm not on facebook so I don't know if it was covered there, but my participation would have to depend on how long the contest runs. I'm 50 pounds heavier than my wedding weight and nursing my youngest so I have to lose slowly. In order to do it in a healthy way I'd have to take at least 6 months. I don't know what kind of attention span everyone else has for that long of a contest.
  3. Glad to hear you are on board Elle! Stay tuned for details ;)
  4. Heather, I agree, the best weight loss is slow and steady. Thats also the best way to insure lasting results while developing a healthy LIFESTYLE.

I will be consulting with an expert to help me develop the details. She suggests loosing no more than a 1.5 a week by modifiying your diet and excercising. I was thinking 90 days off the top. But yes, it will certainly require several months of work and dedication.

I will keep you posted and hope you hop on board!
  5. I think this an amazing idea for a contest! I will certainly particpate and get my girlfriends to join me.
